Becoming an inventor changed a career path for this teen

Katia Avila credits her experience with inventing as a turning point in her career path. She had little knowledge of engineering and had thought she wanted to be a veterinarian. However, Katia and her classmates of the 2018 Garey High School Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam invented a wearable device called Heart & Sole, an oxygen saturation sensor which received a U.S. Patent.
